Goodbye

You fed me bitter candy
That surfed between my teeth
I let its knife shred my tongue
Cold blood filled my shell

You glided away, swaying, graceful
Against the windless summer noon
With my eyes trailing your shadow
Your voice a magnet in my iron head

How could your feathery nails
Strike deep like a poisoned dagger?
And your hair of carnival nights
Smother me like a heavy dusty blanket?

With burnt shirt and tired shoes
I stand still, staring, looking
For your elusive face, longing
For a drop of your clearing rain

The Valley

You braved the toughest winds
And mocked the droplets
Of crimson from your feet
As we climbed to the top
Of the valley’s crown.
You let the scarlet tears
Of your soles swim
Down as you lifted me
To catch the sun.
It had been a long night.

With a secret rhythm
We danced on the valley’s
Belly that was gentle
And endless.

But afternoon came
And the journey
Down the same path
Had yet to be done.
I never wanted to go back.

Dusk came
With a surprise elegy.
I traced the trail of
Crimson that you left
But it only stopped where
My feet had nested.
You were gone.

And down I went
With no light to
Show me the way.
Thorns tugged my skin
And the wind stole
My breath.
I looked back but
The valley was suddenly
Too far away.

And I saw you.
But you were gone.

Heya!

If you know me personally, you know that I love painting my nails, sometimes even doing some nail art manually... haha! I know! It's really hard to do it if you don't have the right materials but if there's a will, there will always be a way-even tons of them sometimes! :D

So here's a recent pic of me, (forgive the kinda haggard puffy eyes and the not-so-cooperative dyed hair) showcasing my newly-painted nails. Oh yeah, they look like candy! And they resemble the colors of the string curtains behind me (which we bought from Divi quite a long time ago, and evidently it got me head over heels when I saw it! Good thing my mom was on the same boat and we got 3 sets of it. Haha. They now adorn our living room, covering the screen that separates the house from the small store. Cute!). :D And yeah, I intentionally posed there to have the curtains as the background. :D

So anyway, you might wonder how many nail polishes we have here. But even if you're not interested, I'm posting a pic here anyway. Haha. :p

So we have 23 nail polishes here. Haha. We don't have lots of staples. And when I speak of we, it's me and my mom because we're the ones who buy nail polish here. But sometimes even my younger sister uses them too. Haha. Just earlier I painted her toenails. The color was...

...I'll tell you later. Haha!

So we see here on the pic that we're not brand loyal when it comes to nail polish, basically because we choose nail polish based on the colors available, the size and the price. Haha. We choose small vials since these things get dried up easily anyway.

Now I'll proceed to show you the groups of nail polish individually. I can name the brands and colors easier that way. So in case you are idolizing my artistic taste when it comes to nail polish, better save this post! Though I used some cute colors before which are now not available in our nail polish bank. So sad. But pretty soon I'm sure I'll get some new cute colors! So just wait for the update of this post! ;)

We have here Chic Neon Blue and Careline Classic in Fantasy Red.

I think my mom bought the neon blue one with my consent since we're looking for a good shade of blue. This one looks playful, though it has the same color as some blue pipes...maybe you're familiar with them? Haha. SO I had to stay away from those when I used this.

My mom disliked the fantasy red one since she said it looked like the one prostitutes use. In my opinion though, it will only seem like that if you'll use it individually but perhaps if used with other colors, it will look good. Especially with green... talk about Christmas colors! Oh I have a green that may look good with it though I didn't think of donning some Christmas-themed design on my nails so I haven't seen if the combination really is good. Still, I think I'm right. Haha!

Now here's the Klik group. Clockwise from top right:

  • Regular Pussy Red - must be a staple! It's very elegant and if you want to look white or make your skin look lighter at least, this will do the trick. I think it also looks good on morenas. :D
  • Frosted 4 Season - this is a part of a nail art kit gifted to my sister. It makes me look darker so I don't really like it. Haha. Plus, it looks like the hair of some cheap China doll. But maybe it will look good on you if you're really fair-skinned.
  • Frosted Orange Peel - I wanted to have some neon colors on my palette that's why I bought this long ago. It kinda makes me look darker too. Haha. It looks like normal neon orange but since it's frosted, it has some metallic shimmer. If put on a morena, I think the color will really stand out.
  • Frosted Mocha Blaze - This is the right shade of orange for me, in my opinion. It doesn't make me look darker, to my pleasant surprise! Though I haven't seen it on a morena, I think this will look quite dull on dark skin.
  • Frosted Plum Delicious - My new favorite! I used this one on my sister earlier and it looks really cute! It has really tiny gold glitters, like gold dust, which makes it shimmery (and thus, the term frosted). It reminds me of Barbie pink. So yeah, it kinda has the dolly effect, at least to me. Very girly! :D On morenas, I think this will also look good.
  • Regular Cinnabar - It looks like a creamy red color, like a very light maroon. It might look dull on morenas and is not a very stunning color even on the fair-skinned. I got this color with formal events in mind.
  • Regular Cindy - A duller version of baby pink and a bit redder than the former. It made me look darker and I'm not sure it would look good on morena skin.Perhaps the fair-skinned could wear this better, like really fair ones.

Of course we also have Caronia products here! From left:
  •      Touch of Tan - Definitely a staple! If you're looking for that skin-tone nail polish well this is the one. Perfect for formal occasions, you can also use this even for day-to-day activities. Not too formal but not too playful, you can just put it on whenever you can't decide what to use. Better for fair-skinned girls, while the frosted version would work for the morenas, IMHO.
  • Regular Pink Lilac - Another good shade for formal occasions. Can you also imagine pairing it with your corporate getup? Great right? :D However, i think this will look quite dull on morenas, but excellent for the fair ones.
  • Bronzed Platinum - My, this one looks silvery white! I was fooled by the compressed color on the vial! Poof... unless you're going for some Lady Gaga outfit, I don't really recommend this. It also makes the skin look darker. I do believe it would look good on morena girls, if they really want to catch attention.
  • Regular Italian Nude - This is a more purple version of pink lilac, more vibrant and young. It can also be used for formal occasions though I prefer pink lilac. Haha. Also good for more informal events, especially if you'll design it with Sassy pink(?) nail art polish, which I did before. huhu but I can't find the pic now. But wait...
Oh here it is. :D I posted it on Facebook before. :D

Notice the stripes? So it's the pink (sorry I can't read the color anymore so I'm not sure what shade it is) Sassy on Italian nude. The Sassy pink (?) came with a nail art brush, both to my astonishment and pleasure. I can't really use it to paint the whole nail, but yeah I was able to make awesome nail art because of it, though still not as awesome as a pro with the right tools. ;)

Anyway, here are the others...
The Sassy family! Though two of them are not in this pic but they'll come later. So here are their shades:
  • Black - No, this is not just for the emo/punk/rockers. It's very classy and it actually looks good on all skin tones. :D This one came with a nail art brush so I just use it for designing.
  • Pink(?) - As I said before, I can't read the label anymore. Also, this came with a nail art brush so it's just perfect for designing, especially for the girly ones. Perfect color combinations: with Italian nude (proven!), Frosted plum delicious (haven't tried this one yet but looks promising!), Apple green (will come later! Also, haven't tried yet but I bet will be a playful pair!), Frosted mocha blaze (still haven't seen them together yet but I'm pretty sure they'll look great together!), other shades similar to the ones I mentioned, particularly those of violet ;)
  • Pussy Red - Yeah because this is a staple, we have two of it. :D
  • Frosted 24 K Gold - Not officially a staple yet but I plan to make it one! Really classy, it looks like a subtle version of bronze which makes it perfect for any skin tone.
  • Frosted Sapphire - In our quest for The Blue Shade, we purchased this since it looks like royal blue, only frosted. Haha. Since it's really dark, it's good for the fair-skinned since it will make them fairer and would also stand out against the lightness of the skin. I think it will have a dramatic effect on the morenas and will also stand out because of its shimmer.

Now the final group!
We have two Sassy's here, the ones on either ends:
  • Amethyst (on the left) - If used by the elderly, it looks fit for their age so I was kinda hesitant to use it but amazingly, it actually looks good and makes my skin look lighter. Only, I would advice that you use it in combination with other colors so as to counter the kinda mature shade (like what I did in my pic, the first one on this post). Better for fair-skinned girls I think.
  • Natural - Yes that one is a natural but it has a red tint that miraculously doesn't really show when you apply it. It's a staple-use it for first and last coating.
And we have the Caress family (from left):
  • Frosted Blackcurrant - looks black at first but it has a plum shimmer. Good for all skin colors.
  • Touch of Tan - did I mention that this is a staple? :D However, Caress makes a darker shade. I prefer Caronia. this ones looks more mocha.
  • Frosted Apple Green - A bright yellow green, it amazingly lightens the skin. Good for all skin colors. ;)

By the way, the colors I used in my pic up, up there are: Frosted 24 K Gold, Frosted Plum Delicious, Frosted Apple Green, Amethyst and Frosted Mocha Blaze. Yup, all of them are shimmery. Tip: if doing combinations, don't mix regulars with frosted ones since they don't really look good together. Or maybe you can prove me wrong. I dare you. :p

So that's all.

Gotta get back to helping mom cook! :D

Noche Buena it two days! Yipee!!! :D

Issues about privacy flood social networking sites yet we still support these virtual worlds.

Online stalking is very much accepted nowadays, whereas physical stalking is still a no-no. Come to think of it, online stalking is much more dangerous since the stalker can have a peek of where you've been, who you're talking to and what you're talking about, what you're thinking of, can infer patterns of your behavior from the bits of information you voluntarily share.

Social media marketing seems to be doing a major kind of online stalking too, to the point that they are figuring out every aspect of your lifestyle, analyzing every shred of it to the most mundane activity you don't even have to think just to get it done. They look for patterns, study the way we think, the way we live and even do so much as to make their brands our virtual friends. Imagine that, they are in a way toying with our emotions-especially the need for understanding, of company... is it still ethical? I know it is, which makes my question quite stupid. But the thing is, there shouldn't be any issue right, as long as the brands live up to their promises and truly deliver whatever values they associate with in their campaigns.

However, I do believe not everyone can grow that passion to be a friend to each and every customer you are targeting. Most brands definitely do it just for profit purposes. It's sort of ironic for me, since we see that usually brands strain every vein just to pull the right emotional strings and attach their brands deep in our hearts and minds, and they try to make it appear like it's the most sincere thing on Earth, that they really want to make us better off. But we all know this is not the case and yeah, this is just one of the tricks of the trade. We're gonna have to bear with that. Companies just compensate the public with whatever good they can muster after filling their profit cups.

And that is very ethical. That's is lawful.

Well, maybe I just have more respect to those companies having an advocacy they really pursue first before their financial interests but then, we won't have all of these corporate giants which are fueling the economies of the world had they not prioritized profit maximization. We are all very much compensated with their main goal of maximizing shareholder wealth since they'll do what they can to keep us satisfied; and even make us a bit dissatisfied so they can satisfy our dissatisfaction. Ain't it weird? The irony of commerce. But this is the world I'm entering-this is the field I'm trying to master, or at least, get myself to play with a few aces in its arena; and I am not fighting my way through it just to lose in the end.

Perhaps I can make a change someday.

And yeah, being a young lady from this generation, I bet social media can be a good platform for good business-good in the sense that it is sincere, clean and honest, and truly for the consumers.

haha. I know, the body kinda veered away from the main topic but hey, it's my blog. :p

Ta pidi milagro, vira'l tiempo

Era olvida yo contigo

I get LSS whenever I hear this song. The thing is, I don't always hear it on the radio, but often I hear it because there's this one customer who buys from our store whose ringtone is this song. I didn't like it before when it was newly released but lately I found it quite... good. Haha. It actually became one of my faves and a staple whenever I play songs from my playlist. I think this is a good song to listen to when you're still bitter-the onset of the moving on stage. :D

So about the post title.

I've been through lots of moving on stages, be it because of relationships (yeah, I believe this is the top-of-mind when you hear the words "moving on"), self renewal (been through lots), or failure (academics, work, expectations, you know) and most if not all are very unpleasant. Still, the bottom line is this: it has to be done and it will be done. Whatever hurt you in the past, it will always be a truth that it happened and you can't change it. You only have power over the present and future. Get creative and do something!

Can't get over him? You can do 2 things: (1) bask in your memories with him-pictures, texts, e-mails, love letters, gifts, Facebook-everything that reminds you of him. Surround yourself with all of these junk until you get fed up with everything! Or you can (2) erase every memorabilia or at least hide them, don't type his name on your browser, block him, make him invisible to your eyes and far from your reach until you lose all interest in him. Both are absurd but very possible and I tell you, they can be very effective. You can try to mix them a bit but the percentage must be 90-10, otherwise something like 50-50 would be very useless. Trust me. Been there, done that. Haha so yeah, I've been through lots of these and what happened? I succeeded. I moved on. See!

Self renewal I believe should always be done with an initiative. I don't think it'll come naturally. If you're a person who trusts easily, it will not be very easy for you to put your guard up in a snap just because you want to, and do it for good. For a while you'll manage, but I doubt you'll hold it for long. You have to decide to do it, to keep doing it and to make it a habit. It's hard to change oneself but if you have to, then do it. For me it takes years. Sometimes it takes that long to have some observable results only to find out that you made the wrong decision. It's also quite hard to go back to the you before. It's easy to forget your previous self; easier than it seems. In making decisions regarding your life and your character, choose wisely since there may be no chance of going back.

Failure is a fact of life. You'll feel stupid, worthless, a big mistake by your parents, an awful epitome of imperfection, and everything else that will make you more depressed. I personally get really affected by my failures. I try not to show it but sometimes the scars run too deep that I wonder where my brains really are and if I really should be called smart. I get depressed lots of times, but I felt downtrodden more often before. Now, I just try to see the rainbow that will come after the rain, while it's still pouring like crazy. Haha. Failure is awfully hard to swallow but you have to unless you want to sulk 'til you drop. Also, you can convince yourself that it's not so bad at all, but believe me it'll only work for a few minutes. So you better think of a rational explanation to appease yourself. Lastly, keep in mind that you will definitely do better next time. And uh, do it for goodness sake.

So there. Moving on is hard but possible and you are the only key to its success. Technique and behavior will definitely be your aces in this game. Think of a good strategy that will work for you. Try and try until you get one that fits you.

YOU CAN DO IT!

I should know. Been there, done that...SUCCEEDED IN THE END. ;)

Are you naughty or nice?

Since it's just a week before Christmas, I asked myself this question. Yup, just at this very moment. Am I naughty or nice?

I think I'm too nice a person. No, I'm not merely bragging about my kindness but I realized that before, I really trust people easily; i thought that kindness and a pure heart is a given in every person. But as I grow older, especially come college, I saw how the world mocked my innocence.

There are tons of naughty people out there, sometimes even those who you thought are the purest of them all would turn out to be the one most ready to poison you given the cue. There are indeed lots of pure hearts scattered all over the globe but I doubt that they outnumber the vile ones. It's a sad reality but we all have to face it.

I used to think that I really have to be nice to everyone even if they don't return it but that would only make me very vulnerable to the evils of those who seem to have lost their sense of humanity.

This truth has changed me; I have become more cautious. It's not that I have turned naughty, nor have I forgotten how to be nice; I just choose the people with whom I will show which side. A Gemini has two faces, and I make sure that I use mine well.

Forgive the weird picture. Be thankful I didn't use yours. :p

So, are you naughty or nice?

We'll see. :D

All hail the scientists or accidental scientists or faith healers or whoever was the genius behind the awesomeness of the Mefenamic acid!

As all of you know, women like me experience the gruesome monthly visit of the "Scarlet Phantom" and this week-long event is usually not a week of happy smiles for us. Dysmenorrhea-the usual company of the Scarlet Phantom-is our most unwelcome visitor but this one can get in no matter what we do. Well what else can ruin your lady's day but the very nosy company of Ms. D?

Good thing there's the noble Mr. Mefenamic Acid to the rescue! No milady, he won't stop the Scarlet Phantom from its visit but Mr. M can absolutely keep Ms. D away! He's a really safe company, believe me. He has taken care of me incredibly well. ;)

Gone are the days of suffering, of chores left undone, of unnecessary arguments with anyone and everyone, of awesome-turned-inexplicably-ugly days, of the desperate need to turn into a man right at the very moment! Celebrate femininity! Mefenamic acid I love you very much!!!

And yes, I recommend his services. Very much. :D

Cheers to my new blog!

Hooray!

This shall serve as my art portfolio <haha> and a place for some thoughts, tips and advice I'm very much willing to share.

The reason for my sorta sudden decision to make a blog is for me to have a motivation to do something creative. It should help me improve my photoshop skills and bring back my literary muse. haha It's been a long time since I finished an article. Sooooooo... this blog ought to help me with these goals. Hahaha.

So yup, cheers! It's the 18th of December 2011 and I hope to have at least 25 creative posts here by the same date next year (wait, does that make it the same date since it will be already 2012 by then? oh well. hahaha that'll have to do! :p)

Welcome to my blog and I hope you enjoy stalking-i mean reading-my posts! :D
